Our Origin

Built on a Shared Vision

We didn't build He Fades She Colors as a corporation. We built it as two people, Eric and Reixa, who fell in love with their crafts and then with each other.

In 2017, we realized something was missing for you in Downtown San Diego. You likely felt it too. Men's shops were too rough around the edges, and women's salons often felt transactional. You couldn't find a place where high-end barbering and expert color lived together without compromise.

So we created it for you. We took over Suite 403 with a simple philosophy: Quality takes time. We reject the high-volume model so we can truly know the person in the chair.

We built this business on relationships. When you sit in our chairs, you aren't just a customer. You are part of the family we have built here in the East Village.
